 High-capacity hexaazatrinaphthylene anode for aqueous organic hybrid flow battery battery

By using a microwave assisted Schiff-base condensation reaction between triquinoyl and 1,2-diaminobenzene, we synthesize a water-insoluble fused phenazine derivative, hexaazatrinaphtylene (HATN), and study its electrochemical performance against a ferrocyanide catholyte in an alkaline aqueous hybrid flow battery. Reversible two-step three-electron transfers and rapid surface-controlled redox reaction kinetics are observed for the HATN electrode in alkaline aqueous solution. Compared to previously-reported organic anode materials for aqueous hybrid flow battery, the HATN exhibits greatly enhanced specific capacity and comparable efficiency and cycling stability.

曹劍瑜-許娟課題組致力于有機(jī)電活性材料和液流電池技術(shù)的相關(guān)基礎(chǔ)和應(yīng)用研究。近年來,在有機(jī)液流電池、有機(jī)混合液流電池和有機(jī)水系二次電池領(lǐng)域取得了一系列成果,先后在J. Mater. Chem. A (2017、2020、2021)、ChemComm (2020)、J. Power Sources(20182019、2020)、Carbon (2020)、ACS Appl. Energy Mater. (2021)等刊物上發(fā)表相關(guān)研究論文。
